Regional Director of Housing

Salary: £100,044 to £125,055 per annum + £5,000 car allowance

Location: Hybrid, covering North London working from Islington or Bow offices, with an expectation of a minimum 2/3 days per week in an office

The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership appointment within Clarion’s North London operation, with responsibility for housing and neighbourhood services across a c28,000 property, diverse portfolio of social rented, supported housing, older persons accommodation, managing agent managed homes, shared owners and leasehold homes.

Your accountability will span across setting and managing regional budgets, setting regional business plans and goals, managing performance and assessing and mitigating risk, alongside leadership of large, multidisciplinary teams. Clear direction, consistent delivery and sound judgement are central, particularly in responding to the differing contexts and needs of neighbourhoods across North London.

Strategic and operational leadership of customer facing housing services sits at the heart of the remit, with a strong focus on services that are well led, responsive and trusted by the communities we serve. Close connection to residents and neighbourhoods remains essential, alongside collaboration with colleagues across repairs, asset management, development and community investment to shape services that reflect both place and people. Services are designed to operate coherently across the organisation, while remaining responsive to local context and need. You will work closely with the Head of Repairs and Estate Services (North London) to deliver high quality services to customers in their homes and communities.

Strong external relationships also form an important part of the remit. Working closely with local authorities and partners supports effective place based approaches, while insight from local delivery informs organisational learning, investment decisions and the ongoing development of services.

Ultimately, this is a leadership role centred on the difference that well run housing and neighbourhood services make to people’s day to day lives, and the responsibility required to sustain that impact at scale building relationship with key local authority and political stakeholders to ensure the services we deliver meet the needs of customers and communities alike.

About You

This role will suit a senior housing leader with experience of leading neighbourhood and tenancy services in a complex, multi site environment. A strong understanding of regulation, legislation and landlord responsibilities will be important, alongside a practical sense of what good service looks and feels like for residents and communities.

You will have led large teams, managed significant budgets and delivered improvement through change, with the ability to weigh evidence, listen carefully and exercise sound judgement in complex situations. Confidence working across professional disciplines and contributing to leadership at organisational level will be important.

Effective regional leadership at Clarion is shaped by a genuine focus on residents and neighbourhoods. Sensitivity to local context, constructive partnership working and attention to how services are experienced on the ground are central to the role. A calm, assured leadership presence and confidence representing Clarion externally are important parts of the brief.
